7.50 (good) Hmm... I can't figure out how to rate this one numerically. I read the manga first (and I continue to read), and though I have a lot of criticisms which are more suited for a review, I love the series overall and consider myself a fan. I think the manga had more impact than the show, which I crammed subbed about 10 eps a night straight till it was finished. Some of the fillers and level 1-2 akuma kills got really boring and repetitive, but the perspective the show took with the series does have some subtle superiorities to the manga, which are hard to explain. Both book and show could stand to be darker - then again, that is a complaint I have about every dark series...I DESIRE DARK-DARK!! (not to be confused with pretentiously dark, superficially dark, or angsty dark) Awesome set of OP/ED themes. I do hope the anime will be picked up again and continued! B)

4.00 (below average) a.k.a "Glass Fleet: La Legende du Vent de l'Univers" Ugg, found this one via "Animerica" mini mag & thought it was going to be an enjoyable fantasy show almost suited for children. Rented from Netflix, watched a strange alternating mix of sub/dub/low audio CC, initially liked main character Michel somewhat, and moe-ly loved side character Badat. It went gender-benndy, bl-pedo, the ending sucked and the animation was only par to begin with. I wouldn't mind reimagining this one in my head but until that version is released on wide expansion don't waste your time on this series!

9.00 (very good) Nice, short series with interesting plot twists and art style. Haven't read the manga. Great original cast. Lovely music. For what it is, it is perfect. Check it out or else! hulu.com/houseoffiveleaves

6.00 (average) WARNING! Ramble time. I was getting this one recommended by a lot of D.Gray-Man fans, and of course, DGM + Mafia = Dark-as-the-depths-of-the-sea-awesome-seinen series. I had first seen the manga in 2006 and at the time noted only that adult Lambo was an interesting cow-man-hitman. And I needed another continuing series besides One Piece, so what the heck? But when I started cramming the poorly animated beginnings of this middle-school comedy I had to ask, "What the heck did I miss??" That's when everybody started telling me to hang on until episode 20. So, patience growing thin, I did. And it got worse. I hated the Mukuro fight. I had been waiting this entire time for (now comedic) mafia shoot 'em up action and I get a short, overly dramatic, 3(?) part battle with an illusionist whose powers are poorly justified coupled with a lame group-fight in which about 5 newly introduced villains were defeated in what seems like 1 episode. By the time that settled down the animation had improved a bit (I think) and I was just grateful to have some light pointless crap back again. To be honest one picture of Giotto is what really convinced me to start the series, not because I liked the way he physically looked (in fact, I hate big, glob-y, bright eyes and outlandish hair) but because it was as if I could feel the wonderful, saintly, aura of a rare kind of person emanating from him - the kind that can by their very gaze scour your soul in a good kind of way. (I'M COMPLETELY SANE I SWEAR!!) Anyway, Dino was also a factor in my sticking with the series, simply because I cannot resist a person with reptile envy. So, as I rolled with the punches in anticipation of the Primo Famiglia I discovered I had fallen in love (non-sexually, mind you) with Yama, Xanxus, Hayato, Squalo, Ryohei, etc, and come today - despite many peevs (including hatred of box weapons) - I am completely engrossed in the series and eating marshmallows ^^ with it every Friday; currently awaiting episode 202 (as of Sept.13 2010). (But that doesn't mean I wouldn't rewrite it the way I'd want it if I could!) EDIT: F*CK!!!! The series just got pulled after 203! What a waste of time!

9.00 (very good) This was an interesting stumble-upon find I watched subbed in late summer 2009. Never read the manga. Don't plan to. Nice mix of action and drama. Something I would have never chosen based on art style. I don't have much complaints about this one. It's practically perfect. Gorgeous 1st ED theme. I think hulu.com/nabarinoou has the entire series up now. Give it a go!

9.00 (very good) I don't read the manga but I enjoy the show. I started watching it on Cartoon Network back in 2005 when they were airing the kiddie cut 4kids dub. I must say that although they chopped the series to bits from an editing standpoint, I love the voice cast, particularly on the game "Pirates Carnival" for PS2. Nowadays I am leisurely catching up with the series via FUNimation's subbed episodes at Hulu.com/onepiece. I manage to keep up with their library episodes and I love the original Japanese cast. My favorite characters are Luffy, Zoro, and Usopp, but I basically love everyone. The mangaka must have a strange and fabulous sense of humor because One Piece never fails to make me laugh. In fact it is one of the only shows that truly cracks me up. It is also the only series I know that wouldn't make a difference to me if it went on FOREVER. Did I mention Luffy is one of the greatest characters ever created, philosophically? We need more virtuous, quirky, capricious leaders like him in this world! Haha

3.00 (poor) Boo. Pressured into watching this due to all the hype. Overrated. Too ecchi for my taste. 2nd season was incredibly underwhelming. Not dark enough. Too childish. Erratic plot direction. Bad ending. LOVE character design of Death the Kid. Chibi Oni, Free, Justin, Shinigami-sama, Dr. Stein, and the art style itself are interesting, too. Decent animation. All this IMO, of course! BAKA!
